There's always something with Bama that feels like they get the breaks in winning NTs while some teams have dominated in the past and didn't win the title.

You mean like this?

64 They win NC but lose bowl. In fairness all prior AP/UPI NC's where awarded before bowls, but Arkansas was 11-0.
65 AP decides to wait until after bowls to name NC. #1, 2 and 3 all lose, guess who is #4. Though at 9-1-1, they still had 4th best record.
73 UPI is still giving NC before bowls, so Bama splits title with Notre Dame, who beats Bama in Sugar Bowl. UPI starts naming NC after bowls the following year
78 11-1 Bama splits title with 12-1 USC who beats Bama 24-14 in Birmingham

That's just the poll titles.

There's a certain irony that Auburn is the exact opposite, getting hosed in 83 and 2004.

Yeah...that.

Which is why I don't count dominance by MNCs. Whether it's the polls or the crazy BCS...luck and sway factor into it.

Bama during their run under Saban has been very consistent, dominant on D but very conservative and they don't beat themselves. It's strange, but I don't really feel a WOW with their run like I have with similar runs in the past. If they had won 4 SEC titles during this run...then, you'd say WOW, dominating the SEC. The strange circumstances of the BCS loses some luster.

You mention those years but forget the years Bama was screwed. Like in 1966 when they started the season ranked #1, won every game and finished ranked #3 behind two teams that tied.

The greater irony is how Bama haters use examples of rival teams getting screwed over while failing to acknowledge 2 very large screw jobs that Alabama suffered.

1966 - Alabama destroys its entire schedule and set a school record for least amount of points allowed during a season. They go on to destroy Nebraska in their bowl game. Michigan State and Notre Dame play to a tie in the final game, don't go to a bowl, and Notre Dame and Michigan State are crowned national champions. Let's just say last year made up for 1966.

1977 - Even bigger screw job than 1966. Alabama's lone loss was a road opener against Top 10 ranked Nebraska by a touchdown. Alabama went on to sweep their schedule included a road win at #1 ranked USC. They also easily beat the same Ole Miss team that only a week later beat might Notre Dame. That same Notre Dame was #5 going into the Cotton Bowl and leapfrogged #3 Alabama (who beat Ohio State 35-6 in the Sugar Bowl) after beating #1 Texas.

If you're going to swallow all the garbage explanations about all of Alabama's supposedly dubious NCs then you may want to look at the times they were hosed as well.
