If you don't think the QB is part of the reason for the horrible offense, then I don't know what you've been watching.

Key word there is PART. There are lots of moving parts on an offense. Each is dependent on the other. I have seen an equal number of breakdowns on each of the "parts" of the offense. The point he was making was in reference to the OP calling for Mett to be benched.

The point is, benched for who? Who is going to come in and magically because he is there everything is just going to start working. That is simply moronic to think that by plugging in Rivers or Bolden, the offense as a whole is suddenly going to get better.

If the receivers were running around open every play and if the o-line was sitting on their assignment every play so Mett was never under any preasure until after his 3-step or 5-step drop, and we still had no offense to show for it. Then I would agree Mett is the problem.

I have seen nothing that indicates Mett is the sole issue on O. Frankly, what I have seen is that Mett appears to be the only person on the offense who clearly is getting better week to week.

WRs- drops have remained a constant and I don't see their routes getting any cleaner.

OL- Injuries, youth, poor protection from the edge.

Those issues have been constant since week 1.

Mett forcing throws? Against Florida this past weekend, he got out of the pocket and threw the ball away.

Mett fumbling while trying to scamble and do too much? I saw Mett tucking the ball, in the Florida game, the second he felt preasure on him.

But instead of some people seeing the development and progression as an indivual player on the O, you throw the QB under the bus for being in a system that doesn't rely on his position and doesn't WANT to rely on his position. LSU's offensive system is not a spread, its not he air raid, its nothing more than goal line sets down the length of the field. And yet I still see plenty of variety in play calling for the offense to be successfull IF all the parts execute at the same time.

Just to clarify, I said variety of play calling... I did NOT say the play calling was always un-preditable.
