i think the defense improves greatly with Vilma and Hawthorne

It will. Both more athletic and better players than Shanle and Herring. Also Vilma could call out better plays on the field, and be the guy there on 3rd downs or when we go to 2 backers.
Casillas, Vilma, Hawthorne, Greer, Patrick. Once we can get all these guys healthy and in some sort of rotation we still won't be a great or even average defense, we just won't be terrible which with our offense if we simply have just an okay defense we should be fine to win a good amount of games.
