re: EPL Asturians

speaking of the defensive midfield, i think javi would do well to work in at CB too. there is just so much quality, i think the club might be able to use the "best" possible lineup in terms of individual skill with him at CB and BAStian/goose/kroos in DM

He did have a couple of nice headers. Better than I remembered. Maybe he is good in the air.

Tweeze, I don't think you've really, really noticed Hendo's multiple orgasms. Javi will make the pigsticker a world star, and will make whatever rubbish Bayern has the tongue in cheek to throw out there serviceable.

The signing of Javi was watershed. Watershed.

Plus Toni Kroos is 22, Gustavo is 25 and Basti probably still has another 4 years of pretty high quality play.

Bayern also has very young center back and Neuer is young too.

If Shaqiri pans out, stacked.

Javi is really good but he's not as good as Schweinsteiger. Eventually he will be but Bayern lives and dies with Basti.

as much as it pains me to admit, i feel like schweiny doesnt get his credit on as wide of a level as his spanish counterparts because all of his medals are silver. for better or worse, that's how it is. world loves a winner

plus they are different. basti learned his trade on the wing and moved central. javi has always played middle of the park

they are two different players. Basti doesn't anchor well, it's not innate in him. Basti was a winger coming up in the ranks, and it is still clear in his play. He will flourish with a calm and centered D. The only thing that remains is, whether or not Javi can become the new Beckenbauer. Obviously Der Kaiser thinks so, otherwise the club would have not signed him for that fee, considering his age and experience to date.

Again, I say it. frick Bayern, frick Bayern.

ETA He anchors well, because he's 'all in', but he is not comfortable doing so.

Basti anchors well, my man. A lot of times the knock on him seems that he likes to sit a little too far back. However, if we could get Javi to play consistently and have Basti push farther up the field, Bayern will be a lot more dangerous.

re: EPL Asturians

Tweeze, I may need to correct myself. I admire Bayern, in a competitive way, as per history.

Since the translator became Real Madrid's coach, well, things have become Spain as a whole.

Always have been, I loved SuperDepor in their heyday, and the magnificent Antic run at AtlMad, but, I'm an RM guy, when things are cool.

Things haven't been cool at RM for many, many a year, including the last two Champion's League wins.

Form over substance. Rights over results. Whatever.

Anyway, RM vs. Bayern have alway been epic. Epic.

Hence, my respect and interest.

I said it wrong. I meant to say, it's not in him. He doesn't like to do it, but like an obedient
'todesco' he does so, and well. But he is not comfortable. frick off, you read my post.

yes, lots of great teams to roll through those clubs. the current squad could very well end up going down as the best bayern team at some point in the near future. if jupp can find a center back pairing that works and alaba comes back anywhere near his form last year, things will get pretty serious imo
