Just curious, why have the 3 errors not been mentioned in this thread?

They have

I'm not really saying it was a good call, but there's so much fallback on it by Braves fans that it's more embarassing than throwing bottles on the field. You lost the game because the Braves played like shite.

Agreed. But the the gravity of that call was absolutely huge. If you were there the momentum in that place was insane. That call absolutely murdered it. We go from bases loaded with 1 out to 2nd and 3rd with 2. I'm not saying we would have done anything but there is something to say about momentum in the playoffs and that call absolutely killed it. I would be comfortable saying that we would have put up 2 that inning with the way things were going. Just my guess though.

That said, I'm glad they through bottles. It was complete bullshite. I hated this WC scenario since the day they announced it. There is absolutely no way you can justify 162 games coming down to 9 innings. That doesn't determine the best team by any means. They're going to have to do away with this terrible experiment because it just doesn't make sense.

As for the call itself. I don't see any defense for it. I was at the game so I didn't see any of the commentary on it but the rule is in place to keep the infielder from letting the ball drop and get an easy double play because the runners hold on fly balls. It also has to be an easy play for the infielder to make. That was not the case here at all. As deep as the ball was hit all the runners took regular leads as if preparing to advance if it dropped. If it were a typical infield fly type ball they would have only been a step off the base. They didn't need the protection the infield fly rule provides them in this case. Also the infield fly is supposed to be called off the bat. The right field umpire (hate the extra umpires for playoffs) called it right before it hit the ground. He wouldn't have called it if it had been dropped which is bullshite because that call is never contingent on whether it is caught or not.
