while BR does not have the best music scene, this statement right here is full of bullshite. You obviously don't keep up with any of the shows elsewhere in the city.

Baton Rouge has been getting some really great shows

I know of a couple of traveling bands that like playing Baton Rouge over New Orleans.

Nola is a great music city, but it's over saturated with shows just about every night

Hell, in the house of blues they'll have two shows going on in the same night at the parish and the HOB

I keep up with other shows, but I was referring to the article written by the talent buyer at the varsity and the shows specifically the varsity gets. I've actually met the guy once or twice. Varsity is awful and Spanish Moon gets a bunch of mediocre indie bands. I'd love to know places that get decent shows in br though.
