In short, depending on the particular load, the velocity of a 22 Mag fired from a pistol barrel may be less than the velocity of a 22 LR fired from a rifle barrel. Yikes...see what you mean. That big fireball I've seen in videos from the Kel Tec sure does indicate a lot of wasted energy. Maybe 9mm is the way to go after all.
