I mean when I say it is illegal. It is. But there are so many allowances that if you really want your kid to carry it isn't hard to accomplish.


I think the law serves the purpose of making it illegal for kids who aren't suppose to have guns from having them.

Oh, I know it is illegal. Must be 21 to carry a handgun. Times aren't the way they used to be. Although the law was the same when I was growing up, I got a Ruger 22 revolver at age 11 , bought myself a Sig P220 at age 17 and a Kimber 45 at age 19. I never ran into any trouble with them, but I didn't really run afoul of the law much either.

ETA: not saying that the OP's lawyer isn't capable of carrying a sidearm or is planning on running afoul of the law.
