If I remember right, it was an insult that originated between someone like Oklahoma and Nebraska...Ok started calling the corn huskers corndogs as an insult...
a year or two later, the geniuses at auburn couldn't think of anything intelligent to throw at us, so they said we all smelled like corndogs because we eat a lot of fried food...and so the legend began...
the shite is so stupid, that few LSU fans even find it insulting...

That's pretty much the version I knew, but told him that I knew I could find the answer here and would follow up.
He wasn't trying to insult me and I really don't get insulted by the whole corndog thing. He was just like, what the hell is this all about. Apparently some of his Aggie friends had insisted on buying corndogs for their tailgate.
