the lack of offense, and the difficulty of running the ball against Bama. Those all played a major role in the outcomes of both match ups against Bama

Am I missing something? Thats still a problem.

Yeah, apparently, you're missing these stats.

Passing Yards
LSU: 1016 yards (203.2 yards/game)
Bama: 1064 yards (212 yards/game)
Difference: +48 passing yards (8.8 yards/game), Bama

Rushing Yards
LSU: 1148 yards (212 yards/game)
Bama: 941 yards (188.2 yards/game)
Difference:+207 yards (23.8 yards/game), LSU

Rushing Yards Against
LSU: 415 yards (65 yards/game)
Bama: 329 yards (83 yards/game)
Difference: +86 rushing yards (18 yards/game) given up, LSU

Passing Yards Against
LSU: 674 yards (134.8 yards/game)
Bama: 629 yards (125.8 yards/game)
Difference: +45 passing yards (9 yards/game) given up, LSU

As I said before, check out the stats before you anoint Bama as SEC/National Champion. Bama isn't really any more powerful on offense than LSU and rushing against them is just as tough as it is rushing against LSU. Our offense is better than its been in years because when we're not fumbling balls, we're actually passing and rushing the ball. Our rushing and passing yards per game and overall are not far apart. Last year, that wasn't the case.

Well, considering I'm a Software Engineering/Math double major, I'd say I "math" a pretty great deal, but hey, if you want to find something to bash out of all of those computations, more power to you, boss.

Also, if you're sitting around saying "Stats do lie, OMG!" then you obviously haven't done any work with statistical analysis over a high number of models. As I said before, there is a margin of error and a chance for the statistics to be wrong, but if we built a system that would randomly generate stat match ups within the entire of the season's performance in each stat, such as rushing and passing yards gained, rushing and passing yards against, points for, points against, etc., put in a chance for a team for have a down day where their offense, defense, or both have an off day, and ran it a couple thousand times, I'd make a large wager that the majority of the results would fall right in line with the statistics. There's a reason that so much emphasis is put into tracking all these statistics. Hint: It's not so fans can use them to bash their team from every angle.
