Not disputing it. He has done a bad job getting this team into game shape this year. He didn't suddenly become John L Smith, though. That's what I'm saying.
I personally think this soft schedule has been bad for the whole program, including Miles. It let's him go into his little comfort shell and get away with it.

How? What coaching mistakes did he make today?
He didn't fumble 5 times and didn't allow Towson to rush for 188yds. All he did this week was pass more to get Mett more exp. and change the OL starters which everyone was screaming for.
Again, in what way was Miles lousy today?
"He didn't get the team ready to play, because they lacked intensity" isn't a reason or proof. I hihgly doubt he did anything differently in the last two weeks than he has always done. Also, when you have superior talent, you shouldn't need to be motivated to do your job on the field correctly.
The poor performance on the field the past 2 weeks is on the players, not the coaches. The coaches have actually made adjustments.

quote:I'll take a crack at that statement: Miles doesn't call plays that are meant to fumble the ball. Miles doesn't tell the QB to miss open receivers badly (and they've made some great one-handed catches or the numbers would be worse). Miles doesn't tell WRs to drop balls that hit them in the numbers, either.

Pretty sure that involves the players on the field being a little more focused on the play at hand. If those things weren't to have happened, we win comfortably at Auburn last week, and much bigger tonight.
How much of that focus/lack thereof is on Miles, and how much is on the players themselves, we really don't know. We do know there have been other players under Miles (and other games with these same players), where there was much more focus displayed.
Now, the odd thing is that lack of focus seemed to appear last january, a month after the entire world touted the team as potential greatest ever. It seems to have carried over this season, and the common denominator is the media crowning the team as the best (ok, behind Bama once our most visible player got kicked off, but since that game is here, it's still right in their lap).
We've lost the media love now. Curious to see if the team collapses, or plays like it's embarrassed and angry.
