Haven't seen the show before. But one thought I had at the end was that Walter just thinks he doesn't remember. The stuff at the end seemed like clues.
Is it possible September set something up so Walter would see the reflected sunlight on the wall, follow it to the broken CDs, etc...and each little thing he sees is designed to make him do something else that doesn't seem like part of a plan?

Anything is possible. I think it was more symbolic of HOPE in general. A flower in the ruins... music from before Allson Moyet became a sperm whale, etc....
