Not surprising, the first episode is cheesy as hell. Watch Blink and see what you think then.

FWIW - "The Doctor's Wife" is on PBS where I am right now. Great episode with the "human" Tardis.

I think that was my favorite episode from last season. Gaiman should guest write more episodes.

I just found it and thought was awesome--will they whack it? Darn, I'll go take it off. :(

They don't allow animated and it's about 5x too big in terms of kb.

Moffat is spending too much time writing Sherlock.

Just looked it up, Blink isn't until the end of season 3.

Should I just skip to the beginning of Season 3 if the next few episodes of season 1 don't entice me?

Start with the Matt Tennant at season 2. Skip Eccleston.

If you want to see if you like the show, and watch episodes in the first season, I'd suggest watching The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances two part episode from season one. I was just trying to suggest an example of a better episode to watch.

Basically, if you watch Blink, Empty Child/Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, and Forest of the Dead/Silence in the Library and don't like any of them then Dr Who isn't for you.

Yeah, I was expecting much more from Moffat as show runner given how stellar his episodes were as a writer. Not that the Smith run has been bad, but it's very hit or miss, and lacks the top notch episodes of the Tennant run.

Not going to complain too much about him spending time on Sherlock though, that's one of my top 3-4 shows on TV. Just need bigger seasons of it.

Sherlock is a weak excuse. The show only had 3 episodes every 2 years. Not like he is spending that much time on Sherlock.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of season 2.

Yeah, Tennant is a much better Doctor than what I remember the guy in the first season was like.

Bump.

I am now almost addicted to this series. Just watched season 2 and am nearly done season 3 in just these past few days.

I was worried when the new companion was black that they wouldn't go back in time much but they wrote her in to the stories pretty well without smacking you over the face with the race card (some of the racist quips were quite funny actually).

Thanks for the recommendations to start at season 2. I may eventually go back to season 1 after Tennant's run is over as the doctor just to watch it.
