Florida - 1630 Tot yds - 4 games
LSU - 1768 Tot yds - 4 games

Florida Opponents - 1220 Tot yds - 4 games
LSU Opponents - 798 Tot yds - 4 games

The contrast gets more interesting looking at the pass/rush statistics and pass/rush for opponents statistics.

A&M is still better than anyone we've played.

Tennessee aint no slouch either.

Yes that definitely has to be factored in. I agree.

level of competition makes this literally and absolutely worthless, no offense to the OP.

The reason LSU has a great chance to win......we can run the ball very well

Agreed, these stats are meaningless. Our opponents are not comparable.

Opponents are NEVER 100% comparable in stats. You have to factor in the differences.

Kentucky has played like crap till date- they got beaten by "they supposed to be SEC" WKU.

I agree that A&M+UT > UDub + Auburn but not by much and the stats reflect that as well with a little bias towards LSU.

LSU played two completely shitty teams, one shitty pac 12 team, and a very very down Auburn team.

Alabama scored 52 points in their SEC opener and LSU scored 12...Bamas offense must be 4x better. Stupid logic.

The comparison was about the ability of the offense to move the ball (i.e. yards).

The reason for this criteria is to point out that taking care of fumbles (and self inflicted mistakes) will result in better execution for the offense and consequently more points and better offensive domination.

As I mentioned in the post above , Florida did play a slightly tougher albeit similar schedule

1- against a divisional rival where emotions run high and game planning goes awry more often than not -UT/AU
2- a team with decent QB and this is where A&M is better than UDub

UF did play 2 shitty teams (albeit one being SEC) and a down UT team and the only redeeming point is the aggies.

Florida depends on ONE running back and its QB for rushing production.

LSU depends on 4 to 5 different running backs.

Running the ball on the road in the SEC is key. We will do that.

the stats show that florida has only outgained its opponents by about 100 yards per game and has allowed an average of over 300 yards per game. so just looking at florida, they clearly are not a dominating team on either side of the ball. they are basically just a solid football team.

I think this is going to be a really good game. It seems that both teams' strengths will be up against the other team's. Both d line and line backers against the other's run game. I think whoever can throw the ball better and limit the turnovers will win. Stats are not worth looking into really. I have not watched a lot of LSU football this year but UF has not tried to run up the score. They easily could have against UK but instead put together long, time consuming drives at the end of the game. You guys owned UF last year, I just hope it's a better game. I truely believe UF is better this year, and I don't think LSU can say the same; you guys were crazy good last year, so I am not belittling your team by any means. You still have the right to be ranked where you are and I hope UF can get a signature win and get back to where they were a few years ago. Let me know if I am off on any of this. Thanks

It's going to be a closer game than last year for sure, you guys have a slight edge at QB-only because of experience.
Also, LSU has not gone out of it's way to run up the score on their opponents, a reflection of our coach.
Going to the Swamp will be tough, may the better team win!!

unless our coaching staff does some really good coaching getting the offense prepared with a winning game plan we probably come out a close loser.

Big difference - Driskell is getting very comfortable as a SEC qb. i've watched their games. the offense is getting confident in him and making plays.

UF has played 3 SEC games - LSU 1, although it was a good hard-fought game. All our wide receivers and our qb have little experience as starters and guys who are expected to carry the load. you could see that they were affected by the pressure in the Auburn game.
Big question - was the auburn game enough to get them to settle down and use their talents? they will be better, for sure.

The defense will do their job, but i don't think we can rely on them to pull out the win like they did against Auburn. The O will have to pull their weight.

This team is not as good as last year at this time, but has the potential to be much better than last year's team. IMHO.
