We are both 50.
I will definitely find transportation.
The web site for the Belle advertises it as less than a mile and and a half from Tiger stadium, but we will taxi or shuttle on all of your advice.

Waaaaaaaay too long of a walk that you especially don't want to make after the game at night time

Don't even try to walk that, too many undesirables live between downtown and LSU. Can't go wrong with Chimes or Walkons the night before the game.
Definitely Bogies for after the game/saturday night.
