Patrick Robinson probably played his best game of his career

Could be big if we ever get a healthy legitimate corner to play with him.

I don't think Patrick Robinson is a bad player. These CB' are on an island when there is absolutely no pass rush on ever single down. How can a CB look good when every pass thrown his way is on the money because the QB has all day to sit in the pocket? This is fricking Matt Cassel. MATT CASSEL!

It's not like he had an all-star day dude. People are too harsh on this D.

Spags doesn't have the talent to run his D. Now, having said that, they're fricking garbage

Honestly, it isn't their fault we lost this game.

He and Jenkins should develop into above-average contributors over their careers.
Now the big question is, who do we draft first?
A pass rusher (Jarvis Jones, Mingo/Montgomery)?
A space-eating defensive tackle (Sylvester Williams, Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short)?
A run-stopping LB (Manti Te'o, Nico Johnson)?
A shutdown corner (Jonathan Banks, Dee Milliner, David Amerson)?

quote:My point was that when they were needed most was when they let us down. Constantly. That play where Cassel extended the play, scrambled a bit, and completed a first down to Jon Baldwin (#89) should have never, EVER happened. And the critical 4th down play to Dwayne Bowe...how the frick was there no press coverage on him? He just walked to the yard to gain and stood there. It's maddening.

I didn't think he played that badly either. The linebacker play was what should be focused on imo..Curtis Lofton aside, holy shite they're bad.

quote:PRob is going into year 3 and Jenkins is going into year 4. They pretty much are what they are at this point and that is below average although I do think there is some room for improvement on PRobs part. He is capable of tight coverage but just doesn't seem to make the plays that come his way.

Jenkins on the other hand is shite.

Cam Jordan did his job all day, really set the edge and got into the backfield..but you couldn't tell because nobody behind him did their job, except for Roman Harper occasionally.
Ellis didn't look very good, though..that's probably to be expected at this point.

Is not shite. Used wrong, yes, but not shite. He needs to move to SS and we need a beast zone coverage ball hawk at FS. That said, Jenkins isn't terrible at FS.

Akiem Hicks was in on several plays, too, whenever he saw the field. I don't really know why Will Smith and Sed Ellis still get playing time. And BB77 doesn't even exist it seems like.

Hicks has been quite good in the limited amount of time they put him out there. He and Tom Johnson should probably play more than they do.
They're probably the only two tackles on the roster that can give a legitimate push inside at this point. Bunkley isn't ever going to rush the passer.
It's really kind of hard to watch linemen like that because everybody just gets jumbled up at some point but I think they're just double teaming him because Ellis has been invisible this year.
