The timeout rule......

I could swear watching another game this year a team called a time out who at that point didn't have one and instead of calling a penalty the time out just wasn't acknowledged. Why in the situation where you dhave a to but can't call one, why wouldn't they follow the same protocol?

Better question would be why do you not have the right personnel on the field after a time out. The call was correct.

Sorry, you're right. Down further it does state that if a 2nd consecutive timeout is inadvertently awarded, the penalty should be enforced.

So in that case if the dumbass officials would have just ignored it then the play would have just happened with no issue? Is it the officials responsibility in such a moment to just ignore it?
