Looking for a duck / goose lease in SWLA. Don't want to go much further east than the welsh / thornwell area. Will consider leasing property with multiple blinds or just leasing a single blind. I know it's kind of late in the game to be looking for a lease, but I figured someone here might have a lead on something.

email me with details

If you have the $ you ought to go run by the Florence Club, put your baller status to the test. Miami Corp is another one.

Well I already found a rice field with 2 pit blinds for $2500. There are still decent places to hunt out there for reasonable prices. Our last lease in thornwell had 4 blinds between 2 fields & it was only $2000 a year. That included dove, teal, duck & goose seasons.

no clue on the doves, I never went but my stepdad & his brothers seemed to do well the few times they went.

teal season was awesome, limited all but once last year. I hunted 6 days during teal season.

during goose season we pretty much always got our specks & killed plenty of snows / blues. Can't really say any exact #'s but I know I was damn tired of cleaning birds after every hunt.

We had way more geese than ducks. On an average hunt with 3 or 4 in the blind I would say we would have 15-20 geese & 3 or 4 ducks. Some days were better than others, but we always had plenty of birds.

Well ill tell you what, you be the guinea pig for this year. Track your totals and if its looking good ill go halfs with ya for next year.

Seriously though that is some really good prices. We pay a lot more but also will end up with 500-600 birds at the end of the year and thats no black jacks or spoonies. The geese have been falling of the past couple of years at our place but we still do okay.

$2500 is too much money for only 2 blinds. For that price I would want 4 or 5 blinds that I could split between several people. I'll hunt my step-dads place if I have too. Was really looking for a blind for under $800.

I saw an ad in the paper today & called about it. Guy had 7 blinds available for $750 each. Ran the ad in todays paper & he got rid of the last one @ about 8:30 AM. I called a few minutes after 9.

Like I said, if you get one and they turn out to be good I would diff be interested for next year. We pay 6 for one blind but like I said we kill.

my thing is that I work offshore with no set schedule. I may only hunt 10-12 times a year, if that much. Can't really justify spending that much money when I don't go all that much. I'll be glad to pass along the guys info who has the blinds if you want it though. Just shoot me an email

Got ya, yal dont have a set schedule? I am most likely goin to head offshore when I grad unless I get a sweet offer in the office. I will take making more $ and working half the year until I want to settle down with a family. Get as much lip ripping and duck busting in before I get bogged down with rugrats.

One of the really expensive arse hunting clubs in SW La, kill the hell out of some birds though.
