When Mett gets his timing down with receivers, Tigers will be unbeatable.

No doubt about it. The passing game is key to beating Alabama because the running game is a given albeit yardage will be hard to come against them, but not as tough as last season. Mettenberg must develop confidence as the season progresses and I'm sure that is exactly what will happen.

I just wish we could use the TE in the middle of the field and in the red zone a little more. Bama used that position really well against us last year and I wish we could return the favor. I'm pretty sure it's on page 7 of the secret playbook so well see.

Go look up stats on Bama's record when teams don't run the ball on them.

Passing is not the key. If you throw a lot, you lose. You need balance or if y ou're imbalanced, it needs to be weighted towards the run.

You need a patient QB who can make good throws to go with his good decisions for the few times you do throw the ball.

The ideal team beats Bama rushing 2:1, eating clock and playing good defense. Arkansas threw the ball a TON last season vs Bama. Results speak for themselves.

*edit* - tennessee actually didnt do shite on the ground or in the air. Forgot Bray was broken.

What if Mett doesn't get his timing down? What if Mett is what he is?

Bama is going to get molested worse than a drunk girl in a Georgia bar.

Never said anything about throwing a lot. I said passing is the key and it is because we will not have good success running against a Saban coached team, that's just the way it is. That is where his timing comes into play, if he hits his receivers in stride at crucial stretches of the game, we beat these people. But he has to develop a rhythm before Nov. 3rd and that is what I'm sure they are working on right now.

then we will be in trouble against them. but the run defense is not as strong as last seasons team, but it is still strong.

they said LSU couldn't beat Alabama at home with a better QB?

Did they forget LSU has won 2 seasons in a row over the tide with a below average QB?

LSU is going run over that Defense this year anyways

you watch! The train is coming

I agree, but Miles just wastes that position when it could be a great weapon for us. He prefers to use the TE as an extra blocker rather than an offensive threat.

I really hope that we'll see a little more imagination when it comes to calling the pass plays in the future.

we do not have a true te.

Clement was originally a DE, Nic Jacobs is a te tackle tweener, and Dickson has yet to do anything

Our tight ends can't catch very well. And we have needed them to help in pass protection

I respectively disagree, sir. Clement when thrown to can catch, he proved it last season when both Lee and Jefferson threw to him the few times he was called upon. They have just not called his number so for this season for whatever reasons. They may be saving him for the Alabama game. But the guy can catch when thrown to, I have seen it.

What is up with Dickson? Last report I heard a few years ago he was supposedly better than his brother. Is he that far behind our starters?

How do you figure his timing is not already down, having completed 75% of his passes?

oh, I don't know, maybe it's certain lil things like a INT at the goal line that was almost returned for a TD against Idaho! He may have 75% completion ratage, but that doesn't mean you have your timing down with your receivers. He did it against North Texas to, some passes were forced, when he gets it down he will be lights out. The Washington game was real solid though.
