As a Saints fan, I hated Smith until I moved to Charlotte. He might play with "an attitude", but he always plays hurt (see the Saints game this year) and seems fan-friendly (calls into the local sports radio shows, puts on football camps, etc.)

Steve Smith is a boss the reason people hate him is because he isn't on their team and he lights them up, dude talks a lot but he backs it up.
