I sit in the nosebleeds for Saints games and they are generally louder even way up there. Much louder IMO. The Saints fans are just as drunk, don't bring all their kids, and of course the dome keeps the noise in.
But I've never been down on the field in either so I'm only comparing the noise from the stands.

Absolutely. That's not a knock on LSU fans... it's just a matter of physics. I've been to Saints games and my ears were still ringing the next day.

I'd say the average Saints game is louder than the average LSU game, but bigger LSU games are louder than bigger Saints games.
Mainly due to capacity. Approx. 20,000 extra people makes the difference in those big games.
