Josh Dworaczyk vs. Corey Lemonier

How about this matchup?
JD was getting worked by Benson Mayowa at the end of the 1st half.
And is Dworaczyk really the long-term plan at left tackle? If so, the South Carolina game (among others) worries me.

He'll be fine. The backs will just have to chip a little harder before releasing to the flats. Maybe Miles keeps a TE in to help out. It's not like the TE's are an integral part of the pass routes anyway.

We'll be keeping 1 or 2 backs in on passing situations to chip him. If they can't slow him down, then try putting Landry in there to knock him out (not serious).

The coaching staff will figure out a way to neutralize him. Thankfully Lemonier is the only player on Auburn's defense LSU has to worry about

Buddy, we have no one who can stop that USCe rush from the tackle spot. Clowney is simply too elite. But we have a whole team that can get it done with chips, doubles, crackbacks, traps and screens.

Lemonier had 1 solo tackle, 4 assists, and 0 sacks against ULM. For some reason, I'm not that worried

Lemon is five yards away from the LOS one way or another. Either because he's on the bull rush, or being bulldozed on rushing plays. Run AT him.

As long as they give help he should be okay, but Dworaczyk heads up against the elite pass rush guys in the SEC will be a disaster.

Lemon actually played a lot of the time lined up against the RT against ULM. FWIW

It needs to be mentioned again what one Tiger fan posted on Page 1 of this thread:
- Josh Dworaczyk suffered a calf injury in the very first series, and tried to play through it. It was limiting his mobility more and more as the 1st half wore on. He did not play at all in the 2nd half.
Jeez, out of all the limitations that we saw in JD's game back in 2009 (and to a lesser extent, 2010), "mobility" wasn't one of them. He moves very well, and IMO is actually better suited to blocking D-Ends than D-Tackles.
And finally, Lemonier has lined up much more often as the LDE than RDE in 2012. This means he will be matched up with whoever we play on the right side (Hurst or Alexander).

So, can we talk about our other options at left tackle now?
