Damn, I came to this thread to get people's thoughts on the album since I haven't gotten a chance to get it yet, and I had to go through 5 pages of bullshite about Common.
quote:

i was thinking more along the lines of his verse on DIAND

Ross did kill DIAND. I don't know where the verse came from, and I'm still not convinced that Kanye didn't write it for him.
quote:

Well seeing as G.O.O.D. And YMCMB are fueding, that would be highly unlikely

I know Pusha and Drake/Wayne went back and forth and songs, but I think that whole feud was overblown. Didn't Big Sean and Wayne have a single together on the radio right after that? I wanna say there was another collaboration between two of the artists from both labels recently as well.
quote:

The only thing I dont like about the album is that there are only 12 songs on a compilation album

Agreed. I feel like it should at least have 15 tracks or at least a deluxe version, especially since at least 4 of them were released as singles well before the album dropped.

Big Sean came out and said he doesnt have beef with wayne but Jay/Kanye/wayne was the original fued and it turned it into a pusha vs wayne thing which is why i looped it all into YMCMB vs G.O.O.D

Im of the belief that all rap beefs or fueds nowadays are bullshite just to drive up record sales but still doesnt change that theres no way Wayne/Drake would have ended up on this album

I'm not taking sides in the Common argument, but I have to say that he did drop one of the best hip hop verses I've ever heard in one of the best hip hop songs I've ever heard. It took me years and years to really understand this verse. Every line has like three different meanings. It's seriously impressive.

quote:

Yo, yo I was speakin, to my guy 'Riq and
How she was desperately seekin to Organize in a Konfusion
Usin, no protection, told H.E.R. on _Resurrection_
Caught in the Hype Williams, and lost H.E.R. direction
Gettin eight/ate in sections where I wouldn't eat H.E.R.
An under the counter love, so _Silent_-ly I _Treat_ H.E.R.
Her Daddy'll beat H.E.R., eyes all Puff-ed
In the mix on tape, niggaz had her in the buff
When we touch, it was more than just a frick
The Police, in her I found peace (like who?)
Like Malcolm in the East
Seen H.E.R. on the streets of New York, trickin off
Tried to make a hit with H.E.R. but my dick went soft
Movin weight, losin weight, not picky - with who she choose to date
To confuse the hate, with her struggle I relate
Close to thirty, most of the niggaz she know is dirty
Havin more babies than Lauryn, she started showin early
As of late I realized, that this is H.E.R. fate
Or destiny that brings the best of me
It's like God is testin me
In _Retrospect_ I see she brought _Life_ and death to me
Peace to us collectively, live and direct when we perform
It's just coffee shop chicks and white dudes
Over H.E.R. I got into it with that **** Ice Cube
Now the fight moved to in life, makin the right moves
Besides God and family, you my life's jewel
Like that y'all
Hip-Hop.

My beautiful dark twisted fantasy will be his version of Nas's Illmatic. He'll never be able to top it.

I hope he can

Great album though

Let's at least give him a chance. He hasn't released a solo album since, but he sounds very in-form on most of his collaborations
