look i'm not trying to get in an argument about rap, i've been listening to rap since about 1988, and everybody has their own opinion.
but, common has starred gap commercials, microsoft commercials, Zune, Lincoln Navigator, Deisal Perfume,
according to wiki he was making on par with Eminem and Akon at his peak , he's been in countless movies
so i guess i have a different definitions of commercial, he's def not a straight rap artist or underground, i would consider him more of an entertainer.
and i'd be pretty surprised if you started a top 10 rap legends thread and common was in there.

so because he acts hes not a rapper?
he was a rapper first, actor second. just like cube and ll and many others.
common has always been ahead of the curve, sometimes for the worse, but hes always taken risks and chances.
i doubt anyone would say common is a top 10 mc, he may be in MY list, but hes a top 50 mc of all time, no doubt.
and as far as drake, common shite on that dude just like he did ice cube.
im at work and cant link stuff, ill do it from home later, but look up 'the bitch in yoo.'

have you actually listened to his music? look i'm not saying he's for everybody, but i like his stuff a lot.
and common is talented and a lyricist and i can see why some people like him, but to say he is a Legend and is not commercial is a joke.

I went to one of his shows! A buddy of mine in college was the web designer for Mickey Avalon's page. The dude is the epitome of Hollywood trash! He and his actor buddy, Dirk Nasty, are in no way shape or form deserving of any respect.
