Birmingham supports its food trucks - do we?

I'm speaking more about official support, which is implied in a free music event being held today in BHM's new downtown city park called Trucks by the Tracks.
After the park event one can walk across the street and see even more free music at Good People Brewing.
I realize the Wround Up is sometimes held next to Tin Roof -- and God bless 'em for doing so -- but the BHM events seem be more organized and even... I dunno... wanted by the city and public.
Thoughts?

When you have people constantly saying "I never know where they are going to be" that's a very large part of the problem. And the other part is, besides LSU football, where people will suffer insufferable heat to not only watch the game but tailgate all day, and yet are reluctant to go to a truck because it's too hot, there's another issue. The foot traffic as well as doing anything outside besides LSU related activities here is abysmal to say the least. Now, the moment they get some killer food they start to get what it's about, but first you have to get them to venture outside and try it, the overwhelming vast majority of people here who simply have not made the first step.

I wonder if th city has these type of events for the existing restaurants and businesses in town that have permanent sites?

The owner of Spoonfed Grill lives over near us somewhere. They've had their truck up here in Cahaba Heights for dinner a couple of nights a week. The Southern Soul Bowl is outstanding.
We had baseball today or we would have gone.
