i'll be honest. for a "pro style" offense, it leaves alot to be desired. no actual NFL screens. no draws. no bootlegs. no waggles. minimal misdirection. its like we refuse to use scheme on offense. plowing forward and busting everyone in the mustache works for 10 wins a year, but when you face someone with equal talent(BAMA!!), you struggle b/c of the simplicity.

McCarron got sacked multiple times against WKU. What was it, 6 times?

We have one or two sacks at the most.

This obsession with Bama is out of hand. Respect them but goodness.

Apparently it works for 13 wins/year.

Dreaux - thread is good and a great topic.

LSUTIGER - I agree 100% with you. Folks want to blame the Nat'l champ loss solely on Qb play for us, but a close look at details tells me it was scheming. Alabama adjusted, used TE more to attack weak LB play (anyone disagree that if anything was weak on our d last year, it was LB play?). They also threw true screen and check downs. I think they even rolled AJ out once.

Yes - our offense worked for 13 wins, but what IF TM7 hadn't returned that punt at Arky for 7, they score and we are down 21-0? Or Georgia had gotten a little more creative on offense after halftime in the SEC champ game. Point is thy Arky and Georgia were a lil better than other teams and had our same ole tendencies figured out. We even had to kick fg is red zone THIS year versus UNT and Wash.

So - whether it's Miles or Stud, we DO get out schemed regularly. I've seen some diff this year with the bubble screen set up, but hopefully we do more later against better competition.

The bootleg is one of our most frequently run plays.

You hit the nail on the head, I wouldn't even call this a pro-style offense so far. By the way, as dumb as Jefferson was and given his running ability why didn't we run more bootlegs with him? There were so many situations last year where I would say yeah a bootleg would work right here, but we haven't run a bootleg in like 4 years. (Later in the season Mett did finally get one)

You figure if your QB is dumb and can't make progressions, run a damn flood pass and put 3 options in front of his face with running being the 4th.
