TH03 the home and home was scheduled for 2013 and 2014. TCU did not bitch out of anything.

Do you not think ESPN would go to the LSU TCU game as a season opener if it were at LSU or TCU? The game would still get national coverage.
As far as exposrure sure we will get TV commercials and etc. but how many LSU fans walk away saying TCU is one hell of a nice school and campus. How many end up saying, I can't beleive how new and nice everything is or how great it was to tailgate with TCU fans.
Ft Worth as a whole will not skip a beat just like the big city of BR would not if a home game is lost. But dont for one minute think there is not substantial revenue that flows into a city when large traveling schools come to town. Hotels, resturants, liqour stores, etc. All the way down to the tri delts who sell programs at the game.

quote:i bet the cowboy classic pays more than TCU makes at a home game
not substantial revenue that flows into a city when large traveling schools come to town
so i dont think TCU is losing any money. Unless their athletic director and administation are just willfully throwing money away

but now MORE LSU fans will come to the game. Significantly more, as its a neutral site game in a larger stadium. Even if only a quarter of the fans stay in Ft. worth, it's still more than a standard home game at Amon Carter.

No because they would go see Bama play Texas Tech at Jerry's World

Sure it would......but to say it would be the same magnitude as a big Classic game is off base.

This will probably still be said I would assume unless the TCU folks can't make that arduous trip to Dallas.....as far as the campus goes all that is nice to hear people say but how far does it really get you. I've already forgotten what LSU fans said about going to Arizona St's campus a few years back.

Again I would assume that TCU had to agree with this.....so again I say it appears that TCU really doesn't have much grief for the hurt Ft. Worth will feel over this decision.
