They aren't catching the Braves for the WC, so they are fighting with 4 teams ahead of them for 1 spot.
It's not that hard to see why they have a very poor chance.

What are you trying to argue? That 3 is a very low number?
I think everyone gets that, but 3.5 games isn't insurmountable. I'd like to see what the Braves and Red Sox % was last year on September 1st.
