The team will be ready, but after watching them against Karr and Lutcher I don't give them too much of a chance. Defense was supposed to be good but in the first two games they haven't stopped too much. If the QB has time he can throw, but the OL isn't giving him much time. I don't think I'll go to this game.
I seen that local student show where Lou talks about each game and during the Karr hlights, yall were in the game, but the D kept looking for the pass... Cannot give Speedy Noil any space... It looked as if the O moved the ball at times, but just didn't too much to create space...

Same thing happened this week against Lutcher, whenever they covered well Matherne pulled the ball down and ran for good yardage. I know we have the advantage in one thing though, kicking game!
Craig Ford can hit from 50+ and Brooks Vial does a good job punting.

Late to the conversation obviously. But Burks was a senior in 1998. Derron Parquet actually played some in the same backfield. He was a sophmore at the time.
I personally don't think there was any question Burks was better. They both ran for over 2000 yards in high school. But Parquet was more of a finesse, speed guy(compared to Michael). He didn't hate running out of bounds. Not Mario Bates, but still. Burks was a do everything. A real workhorse. He of course went on to start at Auburn as a true freshman.
Two of the best backs I've seen in person were Michael Burks and Jonathan Wells.

Comon man the kid you are referring to is not a horse maybe can get a scholly to a small D-1 school. He is not a hawse. Parquette was a horse my brother. Now that big number 75 on the other hand is a monster.
C'mon man... You said like most years. Just a heads up, Parquet hasn't played at Rummel in about 12 years and Burks even longer. So, which "horses" has Rummel had in these years since Parquet? Maybe Rashad Brown before he tore everything in his knee. Do you count Steltz?
Onside kick topic:
It would have been a game changer for either team. If the whistle wouldn't have blown the Rummel would have likely recovered the the kick. People can talk all they want about momentum and all that, but Rummel dominated. Aug's only scores (outside of garbage time) were a 60 yd td by Fournette and about a 15 yard drive for a td after a fumble on a kickoff by Rummel. The onside kick is being blown way out of proportion.
Whistle from stands
Whistle from stands 2
2nd paragraph
Also, I saw the side line referee on the St. Aug side still running to his position for the kick off after Rummel had kicked the ball. Maybe a ref did blow the whistle bc of the one out of position. Just bc the refs say they didn't blow it doesn't mean they didn't.

Eric Smith & Terrence Dunbar played collegiately. 02' grads.
after Steltz who was 03' there really hasnt been many stud RBs like they use to have, unless im forgetting someone
Jarrel Johnson is the all time leading rusher& TDs in rummel history

Rummel came prepared to play and took it to us. We really didn't have an answer and Rummel was absolutely keying on LF. Even so, he still did his thing.

Once again no horses in a long time. Jarrel Johnson probably ran behind the best OL in Rummel history. Also I really didn't count Steltz as a horse rb but he was a beast on the other side of the ball.
