Let's be clear here, when it comes to the ACCs survival, I think this was a very strong move. People were bitching about the TV deal....this brings more money to the schools who play Notre Dame ($1M per) and we can now leverage this with ESPN for a better deal.
They get an ACC tie in for bowl games but I am willing to bet we get additional bowl tie ins with having the notre dame relationship.
They have been playing 4-5 of our schools lately anyway. This just brings the added benefit of having the money included as a part of the deal for both parties.
Let's face it, in the day when money is ruling college football and rivalries are getting broken and conferences are getting torn apart, the ACC had to do something of this nature to maintain its future. It's a good move. I would wager to say that the BIG10 and BIG12 would have loved to have this deal.
