because their struggles at home against lowly Purdue make you so confident in their abilities?

It's a rivalry game and I think Purdue is significantly better this year than previous years. No one on that schedule really would intimidate me. Maybe Michigan State because of their running back, but I think Notre Dame is still capable of beating them. OU? They'll probably win, but I still think Notre Dame can take them. Michigan? Notre Dame could have beaten them last year. Take Shoe lace out of the game and they got a great shot. BYU? Nope. Stanford? Nope.

notre dame has 4 losses at best written all over them.

I think they best they can hope for this year is 4 losses. 5 losses is even more probable. but i still think they'll be around 6-6.

losses to: MSU, Michigan, Stanford, Oklahoma, USC, and one of the rest of the teams they play (Miami FL, BYU, Pitt, BC, Wake)

Love the attempt at deflecting the situation here, but this is not about Ws and Ls.

This is about money and now the ACC has tremendous leverage in renegotiating their TV contracts.

meh, I don't blame ND for doing what they do regarding conference affiliation. While I'd prefer the do join a conference, I can't blame an organization for taking advantage of whatever opportunities it's given

now, you were the one that brought up their great recruiting. so, what say you: top 15 team this year, right? based on their great recruiting the past 5 years

BYU and Stanford are both on notre dame's level. Games are sorta of a toss up i guess.

i know it eats at me.

i sometimes lie awake at night feverishly worrying about Notre Dame's rise to power in the football world. Nightmares about the dominant championship teams they had back before I was even born. I sometimes see shadows of leprechons doing touchdown dances.

when i stirr awake into reality i calm myself thinking of how an average SEC team would run the score up on them.

Completely agree. ND has access to the ACCs bowl tie-ins too.

All of those games are tossups. I still think Notre Dame can win all of those. Will they? Highly doubtful. But, if they did win, say 5/6...they should definitely be top 10 worthy in my opinion. Their schedule is tough as hell.

Only two games that are not expendable are USC and Navy; ND will keep those two no matter what.

All others are not rivalry games...(even Michigan as those two are taking a break from the series in a few years).

So USC, Navy, and then add 5 ACC games which brings the total to 7 games. Plenty of flexibility with the remaining schedule.

I would add Purdue and Michigan St to the list of teams they won't break from. They have played Purdue every year since WWII and have fewer breaks with MSU than Michigan.

good point and they play Pitt and Cuse on the regular and played some other BE teams every year.

I can see Pitt and Cuse staying on the ND slate for good now.

You wont be seeing them playing Clemson,VT and FSU on the regualr

They should NEVER give up the deal they have in football.

how much more do they make in tv than an sec team? i have no idea but i doubt its much if anything at all.

we've already established in the offseason that sec teams make more off bowls than nd would if they went to a bcs bowl.
