Have any of you ever been on a Delta Waterfowl committee?

I was on the one for 2 years for the Monroe chapter here a few years ago. I was just wondering if I was the only one. Dd you enjoy it? All of the work going into the banquet sucked, but the free alcohol at the banquets were the tits!!!

I'm on the Evangeline Parish chapter committee currently. I've been on it since the chapter inception 6 years ago. Preparation is a pain in the arse but seeing how much money a small chapter can raise and put back into duck production is very rewarding. Plus our chapter gives out wood duck boxes to members and will even put them up for you. Since we started doing this (along with many other chapters in S. La.), the wood duck limit has gone up to 3. It's great to see results like this so quickly.

Yeah it was pretty cool to know that we raised a ton of money for waterfowl preservation. The guys that were running ours just up and quit without informing us. Last year I kept asking my buddy, "hey man, have you gotten a call about DW?" He said no man.. Idk what's going on. Apparently some other group of guys took it over, and I never heard from them again..

I had almost same thing happen in DU worked my arse off in the committee my first year. Didn't hear anything my 2nd year until about 2 days before banquet they called trying to sell me tickets. To say I came unhinged would be an understatement.

Yeah, all that shite is usually a popularity contest. It's not what you know, or what you're willing to do; it's all about who you know..
