Every business person knows there are two ways to increase your profits. Either grow the business by increasing sales or control expenses. Joe Dean was the ultimate in control your expenses businessmen. It was almost as if he couldn't see a connection between winning and increased revenue. He was content to operate the athletic department profitably, winning was a lower priority.
