Edwin Edwards and the good ole boys(forerunner of rantards)
Edwin stacked the LSU system and Board Of Supervisors with his political cronies. The circus that each coaching search created was mind boggling!
These hacks were usually either stupid, or focused on lining their pockets, not on maintaining excellence.
The good ole boys wanted someone with "LSU Ties" to be AD, they supported Joe Dean as AD. They also handed the job to Skip. Emmert wanted to conduct a national search.
Mark Emmert was the best thing that ever happened to LSU. The combination of Blabineaux Blanco and the return to power of the GOB led to his leaving.

Ruffin Rodrigue said today on 104.5 that he thinks if Jindal had won in 2004, Emmret and Saban would still be here.
