A guy that I don't think gets near enough credit for country rock is Rick Nelson and his Stone Canyon Band. His 1970 slbum 'In Concert at The Troubadour' is damn good.

Had that album! Really enjoyed, of all things, the hand clapping in "Had an Dog,and his name was Blue".

Great album though. The version with the Gram Parson vocals restored is probably in my top 10 of all time:

Best remembered as Neil Young's backing band, Crazy Horse released several albums on their own, including their 1971 debut:
They were led by Danny Whitten (1943-1972, the subject of some Neil Young songs), and future guitar hero/Springsteen sideman Nils Lofgren.
Lofgren must have left before the pics were taken. He's replaced on the back sleeve by producer Jack Nitzsche, immortal as Phil Spector's arranger.

Yeah, I've watched it since. I don't care for CSN's music and David Crosby himself is extremely irritating, but the interview with David Geffen was very interesting.

Alt Country. Cowpunk. Country Rock. Americana. Even Rockabilly.
