I've been hearing alot about these folks just sitting in parking lots for a very long time.

Entergy says they have to asses the situation and get their plans lined up.

I'm thinking it is just piss poor planning by Entergy like usual. I have friends that used to work for them that were quite confident that they didn't give a shite about keeping the grid in good shape. They knew that when hurricanes would come through they could deal with insurance and then get rate increases or whatever they needed.

My drunk ignorant rant is over. Take it for what it's worth.

the relief workers that are driving in are required by law to rest after a certain amount of driving time. So a lot of them drive down and cannot work right away. therefore they sit.

also, some sleep in their trucks. Others dont, but they park them all together. It could easily look like they are just sitting around, when indeed they are off of work.

The Entergy customer service rep has to be the worst I have heard in a while. Sheila Pounders has to be taken off the TV and radio. She does a poor job of making Entergy sound competent. She basically made it sound like all the crews do for 2 days is drive around doing paperwork. I know those guys are working hard and long hours. My guess is Entergy has piss poor planning along the lines of Kathleen Blanco.
