I'm glad he's getting pissed, but acting surley on the radio aint getting the power turned on at my house any faster. Anyway, he mentioned a few interesting statistics and stories.
-Out of the hundred thousand or so houses without power, entergy only restored power to around ten thousand.
-Only one third of Jefferson Parish has power
-Either he or some councilman mentioned 40 power trucks waiting in a parking lot in Gretna. The trucks were waiting for 12 hours for their orders from entergy. The trucks waited so long that they ran out of gas. When their orders did arrive, the Gretna police department had to find gas for these trucks to get going.

My power came on literally 10 minutes after his rant on the radio. Coincidence, but still funny.

He's a blowhard reporting on rumors and angry constituent complaints. I hate politicians.

I've been hearing alot about these folks just sitting in parking lots for a very long time.
Entergy says they have to asses the situation and get their plans lined up.
I'm thinking it is just piss poor planning by Entergy like usual. I have friends that used to work for them that were quite confident that they didn't give a shite about keeping the grid in good shape. They knew that when hurricanes would come through they could deal with insurance and then get rate increases or whatever they needed.
My drunk ignorant rant is over. Take it for what it's worth.

My power just came on about 45 minutes ago. My problem is not with the crews out there working right now, the issue I have is that my power was out 2 days longer than than 2 streets over because of a pole holding a transformer was rot for months before this storm and Entergy was notified multiple times about it and did nothing. First gust of wind Tuesday night guess what happened to that pole.
Now Entergy will get to charge a "hurricane fee" so we can all pay extra for there lack of grid maintenance.

People bitching are stupid. Nobody wants the power back on more than entergy. They are ones losing money bc customers aren't using electricity plus I'm sure they're not paying all the out of state guys time and a half or more just to sit around and stare at each other.

Meanwhile, Cleco has been kicking arse on the Northshore.

Some people say that John Young is just being dramatic for political purposes. They say he's exaggerating for dramatic effect.
Well, that would be a very risky political strategy. I heard his press conference live, and, his tone was unlike what you usually hear with politicians. He was very angry, and his words left no doubt that he saw evidence that absolutely lead him to the conclusion that Entergy is fricking this thing up big time.
If Entergy can show that John Young is dead wrong, then John Young's political career is in jeopardy, and Young will have done this to himself.
On the other hand, if investigation into the facts reveals that John Young is CORRECT, then, he will politically benefit, as he should.
Right now, we don't know all the facts. John Young called upon the La. state authorities to investigate this matter. This is the correct path.
