Hope everyone is safe.

The wife and I left our house in River Oaks Tuesday night and came to her parents; they live in subdivision off st. Andrews past the Links.

We were able to drive back there yesterday around 10 a.m., got some more clothes and things for 5 month old. We were there for maybe 15-20 minutes, and realized the water rised too much in that little time to get out in my truck. We went to my bro-inlaw's around the corner who thankfully has a raised truck that could make it.

We watched the water rise from my inlaws all day yesterday; a couple feet in a couple hours. It was fricking incredible and scary as hell. Eventually it stopped about a foot from their door, and six inches from their home generator.

We went back to our house around 11 a.m. today, and the water stopped 1.5" below our door. Unbelievable how blessed we were, but at the same time, my brother in law and many friends took on a lot of water. Very very sad around here. I'll post some pics whenever my shitty BB decides to find some service.

And to you guys helping out. fricking heroes

Are I-10 and Airline closed in Laplace? I will be traveling from Metairie to Baton Rouge Saturday and from what I heard I won't be able to pass through Laplace. Is 55 to 12 the only option I have?

TIA
