Mine came today. He was glad we hadn't touched anything. Said historically people are better off if the adjuster can get original pictures of everything.

Also, you are going to need to catalog everything you will claim under contents. Huge pita to get serial numbers off of all the flooded electronics and appliances in the heat. (you don't have to have all the serial numbers before they leave you can send it to them later).

Guess it will be worth it.

A picture of a room with carpet vs a picture of a room without carpet is pretty much the same. That is the only thing pulled so far to help the house dry out. If they have issues with that, they had better been prepared to help pull up carpet then.

I think you can pull carpet but keep a 4 x 4 section for them to see and get a picture.

That is what I was told.

I left my wife's families house (her first cousin and his wife) about 4 hours ago. We spent all day ripping out Sheetrock, carpet, etc. I can honestly say I've never witnessed anything like this. It was unreal. They live off the 400 block of Devon in river Forrest.

Anyone find any good, "reasonable" contractor? I only met one. A guy named Clifford Coffman with Coffman Homes. He seemed knowledgable and was pretty nice. Although when I searched the Internet the only thing I could find was a 2008 law suit against him and his company for practicing without a license and some other shite.

I overheard 2 guys talking today in Lakeview, and 1 of them wasn't aware that Laplace had flooded.

This infuriates me. They probably know every pulled muscle any NFL player gets, but is unaware that their next door neighbor drowned in their attic. At least put the news on once a week. Some people just don't give a damn about what's going on in the world.
