I mean, I knew they would be bad, but they could lose 110, I don't think the Pirates got that bad did they? That's got to be like going 1-15 in the NFL, pitiful.

They only have one player on the active roster who is earning more than $750,000.

Ben Francisco.

Altuve is the only player who should be making that kind of money.

he didn't do that bad. they actually had some good teams under his ownership. yea, he screwed up by keeping bertman, oswald and lee too long and letting the farm teams slide. but, when they decided to tear down and rebuild they did it en masse and we still don't know what the value of the prospects are gonna be. imo, this new group knows less about baseball than the old group and they have lost the fans already. they never should have taken the 80 million. even berkman is willing to speak up and is basically saying what are on many folks mind. and they ain't blamin' drayton. the houston fans deserve better but they ain't gonna get it. i suspect that this new ownership group will be very tight with the pursestrings and we will see a situation very much like the montreal expos. i only real problem i have with drayton is selling the club to the present cocksuckers.

i dont see this as the situation at all. crane paid a ton of money for this franchise, i dont see him using it as a tax right-off.

the problem was drayton leveraging the future for one last shot under his watch. hanging onto oswalt and berkman too long, giving carlos lee a gigantic contract when we werent 1 player away, trading for miggy tejada thinking he would make the difference, and finally, and most importantly, cheaping out on high draft picks over the last 10 years, slowly eroding the farm system

the new regime is doing what shouldve been done 4 years ago: trade anyone with any value, burn it to the ground, and start over. it will take time, but the current state of the organization is not the new administration's fault- its draytons- plain and simple.

What have you based this on? Have you seen Lunhow's credentials? Do you even know who Lunhow is?

You realize that Drayton depleted the farm system by failing to sign picks, creating the current situation? He absolutely bears the brunt of the blame in this situation.

What he said......

Drayton tried to do what the Yankees did on a much smaller scale. Sign proven players. Except Drayton didn't have the money and those proven players were WAY past their prime.

Spare me on all the bullshite that you posted. Everything this new ownership has done was needed and anyone that knows anything about how MLB works will agree that every move they've made has been positive.

Even with an average Fav bet of -175 against, you could have won..

$6150 betting $350 to win $200 over that span.

No. This group is doing what should have happened several years ago...and had they done it then it wouldn't have had to be this bad.

no one said they were this bad his entire time as owner, but you have to look at the entire picture. He trashed the minors and made bad decisions after bad decisions and refused to admit he needed to rebuild, when it was patently obvious. The state the Astros are in is 100% the doing of Drayton McClane.

Bud Selig: fricking with Houston for the fun of it

And I obviously agree Drayton is to blame for this catastrophe

Absolutely correct. If Drayton had done his job correctly, Chad Jones would be a healthy major leaguer right now.

Side note : With the obvious housecleaning of the coaching staff, how did Doug Brocail manage to keep his job ? The Astros pitchers look like brook trout when they get on the mound.
