Last I heard they were still struggling to find providers, whats the word?
First game is against Wyoming on sept 1..and its on the Longhorn Network. How many Texas fans won't be able to watch this?

Several operators in the state of Texas -- Consolidated Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision -- will make the Longhorn Network (LHN) available to University of Texas fans.

Texas isn't Notre Dame. Outside of the state, no one gives a crap about UT football. Every college brand, except Notre Dame, is regional. The fact they don't even have full penetration in Texas is just sad, though.

I'm sure as that game draws closer, the LHN and the bigger providers will announce that it's a free look weekend to try an entice more fans to demand it be a part of their package.
I have doubts it will work though.
UT is making out like bandits though. ESPN is bearing the brunt of the risk, UT is making money, and they have that cool studio to fool kids into thinking people will actually see them on TV in recruiting.

So is that in-between the fashion shows and scholastic speakers I have seen on their schedule the past month?
ESPN needs to cut their ties with that quickly

Won't matter to me one bit since I'll be at the first 2 games (only games this season that will be shown on the LHN) but yeah, I'm sure a lot are still pissed.
At this point, it's pretty much universally known that the LHN is a Big Fail for UT (screwing over its fans) & an even Bigger Fail for ESPN (Paying $300 Million over 20 years for a Network that, so far, only a very small percentage of people can see). They thought they could bully the cable companies/providers into picking up the network at a higher price. Too bad the companies/providers were already sick of getting bullied around & this deal came about at the wrong damn times when UT started a big downturn in its Major Sports. Just a pretty big joke all around.

Yeah I wouldn't give two shits either if I was going to the games.
Sorta how I feel about home games on CBS, I don't remember the last time I watched a home game on CBS, being that I was at the game. People hate on Verne and Gary way too much.. but I guess they see them more than I do

Verne and Gary are fricking horrible

Gary is the best color guy in College Football. No one is better than him, and no one knows more than him.
Sorry I don't get mad when Verne mispronounces a players name

He's in my top 3, but I personally like Todd Blackledge better.
The hate for Gary is too much. I'm not that big a fan of Verne, but I can deal with him. Just know that by the end of the game he's going to be drunker than you and his red, bulbous nose is going to be glowing brighter than Rudolph's.

Todd
Todd's taste of the town
Hes my favorite College broadcaster by far. When he and Mike Patrick were a team, it was the best

No, I'm being completely serious
Todd Blackledge is probably the best caller, but no one can break down a game like Gary, pair that with his calling ability and that's why I think he is among the best right, and has been for a good while.

I don't like to be the guy that says X hates LSU, but im pretty fricking sure Verne hates LSU. He actively roots against them in games.

WHAT???
You don't remember he was crushed when he realized that we picked the ball off on the goal line?

Verne's too drunk to root against anyone.
I do like Danielson, as he has a strong point of view and argues for it logically and fairly. I don't always agree with him, but I always see his point. He's a good guy in the booth.

Probably just wanted a damn Touchdown

Samantha Steele doesn't work there anymore, so it sucks even more.

That's what I think. It's not that he doesn't like a particular team. It's that he's so drunk and excitable that any time anything big happens, his reaction is usually an inappropriate one.
Like his seemingly genuine dismay on Eric Reid's INT.

Is this thread about the Longhorn network or about announcers?
