One time while kayaking along sorority row, no pole with me though, I got past the fraternity houses, right around where the crew team launches and I saw these cattail islands that were about 5-10 yards from shore where bass were thrashing around. Spring 2009 I think. Watched for about 10 minutes but got bored and left.
