I'm not saying Tyrion will survive the series, I'm just saying he's not going to die anytime soon. It would make half the last book and the ending of ASOS utterly pointless. Martin isn't going spend all the time moving Tyrion to Dany and have him die over there, he's going to make it back to Westeros and play some role in her crusade.

On a side note however, these aren't Martin's first books or anything, and he has Tyrion type characters in an number of his other novels. And those characters typically live in his novels. So it would actually be more in Martin's wheelhouse for Tyrion to live than not.

I'm with lady in that I'd actually be more impressed if he kills Tyrion, even though I want him to survive.
