Maybe because with every 1000+ page book, he is adding in quite a few more details that must be taken into account in the editing of the next book a) to make sure there are as few continuity errors as possible, b) to make sure they everything makes sense in the rather specific narrative that he is concocting, and c) the pressure to not let the storyline be disappointing to his fans keeps ratcheting up.
If you haven't noticed, the fans of these books are a bit OCD when they come to picking them apart. I just hope that GRRM can still write the story he was always planning on writing before he had 50000+ fan theories crowding his mind.

If it's true that he has 1000 pages done, I don't see why 2015 can't be a possibility.
Also, I tend to disagree with this map:
Shouldn't Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona be Dorne?? And the rest of the South the Reach? No way should Mississippi be Dornish.
And I would flip where the Eyrie and Riverrun are located in the map.
