It is a possibility(forgot Joanna was Tywin's cousin) but I that if that if it truly happened Tywin would have rebelled, not Robert. Nothing ever gets past Tywin.

I've been thinking about the Hooded Man theory lately. Here's my thoughts.

Some say it is Benjen Stark, some say it is Theon Greyjoy’s split personality… I say it is twofold. The “Ghost of Winterfell” (as in hooded man who goes around killing Bolton men) is Mance Rayder (Abel, the singer) with his people, which is the reason Melisandre sent him to Winterfell in the first place as Jon assumed, correctly. But. “Ghost of Winterfell” is also Theon, simply because this is his POV chapter. This means that the title itself foreshadows development of Theon’s character arch that will end in death making Theon another one of Wintefell’s Ghosts. To what end? For one, Theon has suffered enough. Clean death would be a nice way to end his life. And if his death can aid a sorcerer from North of the Wall in resurrecting one of the remaining Stark children, his debt will truly be paid. Bloodraven, with the help of Bran, who’s been communicating with Theon via Weirwood tree (ADWD) and ravens (TWOW), will use Theon’s beheading (suggested to Stannis by Asha in TWOW) as the blood sacrifice and a retribution for Eddard Stark and his boys, to raise Jon from dead. ”There is power in king’s blood” and a reason why the last image Bran Stark saw through Weirwood in ADWD was the blood sacrifice. Death for Life.

Anybody else got any thoughts on this?

One thing certainly does: his children. Anything that Tywin doesn't want to see, he'll block it out completely. Tywin probably wouldn't even allow himself to think that his wife was raped by Aerys, unless the evidence was undeniable. I don't think he ever accepted that Cersei and Jaime were in an incestuous relationship for instance.

Okay here is some if my notes for AGoT. There are certain chapter you should go back and reread entirely because there is just too much to type and I'm on my phone. Also these note are just some things I find important that could come in to play.

Reread: Arya III Chapter 32. It's the one where she overhears Varys in the dungeons.
In EddardVIII Pycelle mentions the Faceless. I don't think there is much there but someone has been talking to him about it, or why would it be on his mind.
Catelyn VI it is said when she meets Ser Waynwood "her heart had turn to stone" because she did not weep for the dead men she had lost along to the Vale. Mya Stone is seen for the first time.
Eddard IX Ned things of promises he made to Lyanna. Soon after he wonders if Rhaegar visited brothels.
Eddard X should be reread.
Catelyn VII from the dialogue it seems as if Jon Arryn was trying to get Robin as far away from Lysa as possible.
Jon V in it he gets word that he will takes his vows. He rides to clear his head and think of all the places he will not see.
Reread Eddard XII and pay close attention to the exchange between him and Cersei. It talks of blue roses and bring Ned almost to tears.
Bran VI wants to learn the magic of the CoF and the TEC.
Sansa V has some history on Selmy if you're interested.
Eddard XV should be reread and paid close attention to. Varys in there in a face that Ned barely recognizes.
Bran VII reread and pay close attention. History of Westeros and some of the Statk family.
Daenarys IX reread. It is her first dream.
Daenarys X The Red Comet: Tail of the Dragon. They're here.
