Of course if they do the Oberyn/Mountain fight right, I think it could surpass Blackwater, RW, Ned's loosing his head, etc. for me.

You'll be in for a disappointment. It is the one thing I think the show will absolutely pail in comparison. I think the RW will be great, but they've completely failed to build up the Mountain.

I'm being an optimist, but I think they get this almost perfect for the book readers. The non-readers can't possibly hate the Mountain as much as we do, so it won't have the same affect. They did a full scale battle major justice, I think they knock a single combat out of the park.

This x 1 million. Going as far as back as the first book, The Mountain's cruelty, lust for blood, sadism, etc. is emphasized. Before reading, I don't think I could've told you much about Gregor Clegane. The books also emphasize the differences between Sandor and his brother better and how he hates him.

The Dornish and especially Oberyn never forgot about what The Mountain did to Elia and her kids.

I don't think the show has truly shown how cruel the Mountain is...he's truly one of the few evil to the core characters in the series, besides Ramsay and Joffrey.

ETA: About fricking time that the Episode 8 What the Flula review was posted.
