It's unfortunate but it's just not even remotely feasible to be completely true to page with this series. Just too much detail, budget constraints, balancing actor's screen time, etc.

The only deviation from the books that I'm truly disappointed about is the exclusion of all the prophecies. Because if most of our legit theories come to fruition (or even if just a handful come to fruition) then it's going to come completely out of left field for the illiterate viewers and that's a shame IMO.
The beauty and genius of this series is the extremely fine line GRRM places between foreshadowing and red herrings. He constantly gives you hints to lead you along then blows your mind, yet when you go back and reread you realize that he's been telling you what's about to happen all along.
I just think its a shame that the viewers don't get to experience that feeling. Those "ah-ha" moments are what makes this story worth it for me.
