I think it's possible that it could be Theon seeing himself. But the one thing that doesn't past the smell test with that is the Hooded Man calls him a Kinslayer. We know that Theon didn't slay his "kin" Bran or Rickon.

Theon doesn't know what has happened to Bran and Rickon though. He has to assume that they are roaming around the North in the dead of winter. Its a pretty logical conclusion to think they are dead. Therefore he has to think in the back of his mind that he drove them from the safety of Winterfell and ultimately killed them.

I'd throw my guess in that it could be Benjen Stark (I read somewhere that Martin debunked that he was Coldhands) since "A Stark Must Always be in Winterfell" and I think someone has entered through the crypts.

My problem with Benjen is I believe he would've went to Castle Black first. He is far too loyal to break his oaths to the nights watch and that is exactly what he did if he is in fact in Winterfell.

True, but I don't think that necessarily would make him a kinslayer. Piece of shite human being? Yes.

It depends on how he was sent there. There's some speculation that it could've been by the way of the Children of the Forest. Remember, when he disappeared I don't think even Ned had died yet. A lot has happened since then, so there's no telling what he would do.

The Theon theory is cool too though.

Yeah, this is why I think he has to be North of the Wall waging some kind of shadow war, if he is in fact alive.
