Well that's a big possible hint. the book hasn't said much about him but the show may be hinting at it now. I don't remember what happened to him in the book, possibly was killed during the revolt, but there was a big theory he was married to a white walker in a peace pact between men and white walkers. He could have turned into one somehow or the show could be just making up the white walker king character entirely.

Crackpot theory that I sometimes entertain: The White Walkers are actually the good guys. Night King is a tragic misunderstood character that only ever wanted peace.
Dude looks a lot like a Nazgul if that is him pressing "click" on Craster's baby.
Speaking of Craster, if Gilly's baby would ever age past infancy GRRM could someday devise a plot where he is either opposed to (or somehow gets recruited to secretly help) all his half brothers.
Ok, enough random thoughts for now. Can episode 8 please get here.

This Theory has definitely been out there and fits in this GRRM's real life theme to the story. He writes how life is, not black and white. There is hardly ever really the "good" guys or "bad" guys in reality.
A lot of people, including myself, think they White Walkers are moving due to something coming into play that threatens their existence. Possibly the resurgence of magic or something else.
Needless to say, something happened BEFORE the dragons being born again that caused the White Walkers to reawaken after thousands of years.

The Walkers IMO have always been "bad" A gigantic wall was built to keep them away, and they control an army of dead things.
Now, is the Night's King a Stark? that's the question

It is deffinitly a lot more interesting if they are the good guys, or atleast if they are closer than good than the ice zombie reputation they have

I don't think the COTF are bad guys, so the WW have to be. It'd be cool if some parts of them are good, like if one was a Stark at some time and maybe Benjen being amongst them. But they do bring death, so I don't see any other way.
It's weird the show is gonna give us more than the books have.

Not really that's like the whole point of the theory

Death is not always bad. Think of an overgrown forest cleansed by fire, only to grow back.

I hear ya Do you think they are good, or just think it would be cool if they were good?

I think the label of "good" and "bad" are not as clear cut as you want them to be.

I agree and totally understand death isn't always bad. I like your link too.
I guess I'm saying the wall was built for a reason, and no one built a wall around the COTF. Well, we were all told why the wall was built. If it's for some reason we don't know yet, it'd just be another twist.
Maybe because we know so little about both the COTF/WW there can be wiggle room with the explanations. I'd really just like a bunch of story lines wrapping up

Seeing how they take babies and turn them into ice babies, I have a hard time believing they are "good". Plus they turn dead people and animals into killing machines. That doesn't really sound like like very "nice" actions.

Well, the COTF are north of the Wall too.

I guess they are, but aren't they from or originate from somewhere in the Riverlands.
I can't remember. I always think of them as Crannogmen anyway or something like that

Don't know if the originate from there, but you're thinking of the Isle of Faces by Harrenhall.

I don't want them to be anything. It's just what I think. I know it's not clear cut.
I thought Jaime was "bad" a long time ago, and now to me he's "good"
Everyone or everything in this whole story is flawed.
All the characters I "cheer" for are flawed.
Anyone that I consider "good" has done a bad thing
That's a whole other debate about who's honorable, cunning, loving, maniacal etc.
It will always be what I, you, or anyone else actually THINKS about a certain character(s).
I think the COTF are good. I think the WW are bad. It doesn't mean I want them to be either/or it's just what I think they are

The COTF inhabited all of Westeros until the first men settled. They fought for awhile, and then the COTF caused the neck to flood to try and stop the first men from migrating further north. When they did that, them and the first men came to a truce. The agreement was that the men got the open areas, and the COTF got the forests. Then Andels came and pushed the COTF past the wall.

All of this answers whatever I was thinking and I ain't going to the WesterosWiki, so I'm good with this
It's probably stuck in my head that the Reeds are little/sneaky/weird/hanging in the woods/swamp/kinda magical like the COTF, so that's why I equate the two

The only reason why I remembered that was because a couple of weeks ago a rewatched the GOT history & lores deal on youtube.
The Croggomen (or however you spell it) were supposedly at the neck when the flood happened and basically bowed down the COTF, and took up some of their ways...kinda. I think legend has it that they intermixed with some of the COTF or something.
