That is great.

I didnt start reading the books until after I had seen the first two seasons, so I didn't even recall if they had included Kevan.

I'm still pissed about LSH.

Has there been any confirmation concerning this character? Is there a still a chance they introduce her in the next season?

Which chapter is your favorite?

I liked the Sam POV when he and the rest of the survivors from the Fist of the First Men are retreating to Craster's keep.

How can they skip over Arianne though? She's more than likely going to marry Aegon. Plus it's another excuse for them to show tittays for the male viewers.

Arianne I think is going to be a main character though, while everyone else listed is merely recurring. We've heard no news of Aegon or Jon Connington either, and they'll certainly be mains.

And as far as the show passing the books, I'm with GRRM all the way. I've said it numerous times on here and other websites. The show will only pass the books if D&D want it to pass the books. Barring GRRM's unexpected death. There's enough material left from AFFC and aDwD to make 3 more seasons. Looks like season 5 will cover Dorne etc. So there is still the Kingsmoot/Greyjoy stuff of which there is a ton. Arya adventures in Braavos. Sam and Gilly. Dany's story in Mereen (there's a ton there even if you didn't like it). Jon, Stannis and the Wall. Brianne, Pod and LSH. Cercei's spiral into madness. Jamie into the Riverlands. Or wherever they take him. JonCon and young Griff. Tyrion's move to the dark side. Quentyn. Etc etc etc.

I really think they can wrap up Books 4 and 5 this season, and then spend the final 3 seasons on the final 2 books.

Martin spoke with Zap2It’s Terri Schwartz about his comments during yesterday’s panel that Robb Stark’s book wife, Jeyne Westerling, would be making an appearance in ‘The Winds of Winter’ prologue. He reveals that she won’t be the POV character, and that he may just break his own rules in terms of the fate of those who appear in his prologues. He also talks about fans finding hints for future plot points throughout the books, and expands on why he won’t be writing an episode for Season 5.

Damn, I was hoping for a Benjen prologue. I'm guessing he's going to follow the formula and make it a Maester's POV again.

Exactly my thoughts. No way in hell is there enough material for 3 more seasons...and besides, I'm perfectly fine with characters like Quentyn being cut. I understand that it can't be verbatim to the books and that it's going to continue to deviate even more. If the Stoneheart rumor is true, that will be the only major character that I'll be pissed about being excluded thus far.

I think D&D also said at Comic Con that there will be a lot of Stannis this season. I'm really hoping they emphasize the storyline at the Wall and in the North this season. I'm a little worried that they're going to focus on Dorne way too much. And hopefully Dany takes a back seat this season.

Yes I wonder if they're going to include the fake Arya storyline

Hopefully we get Davos going to White Harbor as well.

I don't see how they get around it. Doesn't have to be Jeyne. Have the Freys say they captured Arya and bring forth a random girl with Stark features, and have them marry.

I'll be pissed if I don't hear this quote next season:

"Jared of House Frey, I name you a liar."

I'm kind of torn here. In now way do I think they should stretch out the rest of aFfC and DwD into 3 seasons. But the first season was incredible with how close they followed the book. In my perfect scenario, they have 3 seasons for aFfC, DwD, and WoW. Then one season of Robert's Rebellion prequel. Then hopefully Spring is far enough to do the first season of it. Realize the year off would be difficult to manage as the actors might move on, but I can dream.

Yeah a guy, dressed as Stannis, asked if there was going to be a lot of "Stannis the Mannis" this season. And they said given the quality of the actor and character they plan to really play that out.

Side question: Did anyone watch the "Stannis the Mannis" movie that was posted here a few weeks back?

IMO the best season of the series so far is season 1. Probably because they didn't deviate from the books much at all. In reality season 4 should have been a contender for one of the greatest seasons of television in history. It wasn't anywhere close to that. I believe the reason is because they deviated too far from the books. I'm not talking about leaving things out either. Just changing the way things went down. Lysa/LF/Sansa. Tyrion/Jamie/Tywin. Etc etc

If the show wraps up AFFC and aDwD in season 5 then I will be done with the show. That would really be a shame for everybody cause the story would skip a ton of storylines

NO shite. They need to spend at least two seasons on the remainder of books 4 and 5.

In 20 hours, they would need to deal with:
The aftermath of the battle at The Wall,
Stannis trying to mobilize the North
Jon Snow becoming LC and his choice between the Black and the WInterfell
Jon Snow being LC and trying to deal with Wildlings/Hardhome/repopulating the Wall forts
Jon Snow and Melisandre
Davos's time in White Harbor and heading out to Skagos
The Northmen at Winterfell, with all that entails
( I assume they could leave out Alys Karstark, but I think it would make sense to leave her in as she ties together quite a few of the story lines)
Sam, Aemon, and Gilly being sent to Braavos and then Old Town

Arya in Braavos - which should be given full time to develop.
Tyrion and Varys in Pentos and eventually catching up with JonCon and his merry band and the reveal of (F)Aegon
Tyrion and Jorah in Volantis/priests of Rhallor
T and J sailing back to Meereen and getting back into the presence of Danaerys
The return of the fighting pits, and eventually Drogon
Danaerys and Drogon out in the Grass Sea

The introduction of Dorne, and all its intrigue, including Jamie doing his Riverlands thing down there.
Cersei and Margaery fighting it out in King's Landing.
Cersei's "trial"/humiliation/insanity

Brienne's continued trip to self-discovery/tBwB/the Quiet Isle/Gravedigger
The explanations of the sparrows and the growing religious conflict

Littlefinger/Sansa in the Vale learning politicking

and of course Bran becoming whatever it is he is becoming.

Oh yeah, and all the Greyjoy business.

I know people here apparently seem to really like to belittle those last two books, but a ton stuff happened, even if they were weren't big. bloody surprises.

There is no way they could do it all justice in 10 hours. I think they will be taxed in getting it down to 20 hours, especially since they are likely to add Whitewalkers in with the WIldling/Hardhome issue
